The Volvo C70

Volvo

The Volvo C70 is a four seater coupe cabriolet with a hardtop folding roof which, when folded down, provides what can only be described as an extremely satisfying driving experience. Despite its stylish and rounded profile, the Volvo C70 is not actually classified as a sports car, rather it is designed for the motorist who is looking for Volvo level build quality and safety features, plus the experience of a hardtop fold down cabriolet roof. The roof itself is comprised of three separate sections which manoeuvre quite splendidly into position when you press the button that commands it to fold itself away.

Welcome to the Volvo Motor Vehicles website

The Swedish Volvo Organization was established in 1927 by Gustaf Larsson and Assar Gabrielson, who began manufacturing their first motor vehicle in a compact little factory in Hisingen, Gothenburg. Their first product was a roofless car powered by a four cylinder engine that was called the Volvo OV4. Thereafter they manufactured a saloon variant called the PV4. Around three hundred models rolled off the production line that first year, but these vehicles were not great successes. They followed this by producing a greater range of models, such as the PV651, the PV 652, the TR671 and the TR672, and this enabled the pair to buy outright the small factory in Hinsingen in which the company was based.

The Volvo corporation reached its first major production landmark in 1932 when the one thousandth vehicle rolled off the production line. The company broadened the scope of its designs when they produced a Volvo bus, which was known as the LV70B, and thereafter, between the years of 1933 and 1943, the Volvo production line produced a range of new cars, taxis and buses, which were all cutting edge vehicles in terms of their design and engineering, with very modern styling and a multitude of different functions that you still see in modern motor vehicles today. When World War II broke out the Volvo production was interrupted, and the company entered into a rather fallow period. However with the eventual release of the PV444 and PV544, Volvo returned to their previous position of market dominance. Please contact our Volvo Motor Vehicles experts for further details.
